Home Care Across Illinois is a not-for-profit organization composed of Health Departments that have provided quality Home Health Care for many years. Our highly qualified professional and paraprofessional staff members live in the areas they service. We offer total family, holistic care with an emphasis on preventive service.
Home Care encompasses a broad spectrum of both health and social services that can be delivered to recovering, disabled or chronically ill persons in their home environment. These services include the traditional core of professional nursing and home care aide services, as well as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services and nutritional services. Getting well at home in the comfort of family surroundings is not only more pleasant, but often more effective. The idea that recovery and convalescence progress better at home, as long as the patient has the proper care and support, is commonly accepted in the health care field.
Reasons A Person May Benefit From Home Care:
- need additional assistance to live independently at home because of age, illness or disability;
- have conditions such as congestive heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, muscle-nerve problems or respiratory disease;
- is terminally ill and wants to die in dignity and comfort at home;
- is able to be discharged from a hospital or nursing home, but needs additional care at home; or
- require short-term assistance at home because of same-day or outpatient surgery or maternity-related incapacity.
